Italy is best known for its cuisine, wine, spectacular sea and landscapes and for its Renaissance art. We enjoy all of these things when we travel in Italy. In addition, our journeys and unique in that we explore biblical backgrounds as well. Jesus never went there. There is only scant testimony that Paul went there. Still, Italy holds the best preserved monuments dating to the 1st century. Entire cities and towns, replete with opulent mansions, modest homes, shops, businesses, and infrastructure are preserved. Of course, spectacular frescoes, mosaics and statuary depicting ancient life are also preserved. Together, these are the raw material of historical reconstruction. And we still have time for the cuisine, wine and seascapes.
